___TUNING_ STATIONS
Multi-standard reception
Your new set can receive stations in
the TV standards PAL B/G (e.g.
Federal Republic of Germany, Italy,
Netherlands, Scandinavia, Spain), PAL-
| (e.g. Great Britain), SECAM B/G (e.g.
GDR), SECAM L (e.g. France) and
NTSC (American stations, e.g. AFN).
You can also receive the special
channels for cable TV (see table
pict. 5 page 21) and the French
channels (table page 20).
You don't have to worry about stand-
ards and channels. Using the station
search facility you can run through all
the TV channels in the various stand-
ards to find the stations you can
receive. By doing this you'll get an
overall picture of which stations you
can receive. Perhaps there will be
more than you think. If you know the
standards and channels of your sta-
tions you can select the stations
direct by keying in the standard and
channel number.
Station Search Facility
The station search facility enables you
to find a station you don't know the
number of. Start by looking for all the
stations in the PAL B/G/I and SECAM-
B/G standard. Select the standard
first. if you take more than 8 seconds
to complete a step you will have to
repeat the procedure.
1. Press button «C» until S and a
flashing number appear on the dis-
play (1-4).
2. Press button «1» for PAL- and
SECAM B/G standard. Display: S 1.
3. Select channel 2 as soon as Ch--
appears on the display. First press
button «10» and then button «2».
Display: Ch 02.
Then start station search using button
«+» (4). The station search facility
automatically runs through the TV
channels in the tables on page 20.
The channel numbers will appear on
14
the display. The station search facility
stops at the next station. If you want
to store the station which has been
found press one of the program but-
tons «1... 10» until Pr on the display
has stopped blinking. (e.g. button «1»
for the first station, button «2» for the
second station etc.) You have 8
seconds to do this.
If you don't know which station you
are receiving have a look in your TV
magazine. If you aré looking for a dif-
ferent station or if the reception is
bad, start the station search again
until the next station has been found.
While Ch or CC are on the display
you can start the station search facil-
ity direct using button (4) «+» for-
wards or button (4) «—» backwards. If
Pr is on the display for example (after
storing a station) button «C» has to be
pressed first for a short time before
you can start the search facility using
button (4). (While Pr is on the display
button (4) is used for switching
Hable or back between programs
1-39.
If the picture or sound quality is bad it
might be because you are receiving a
station which doesn't have the stand-
ard you selected. Leave this station
for a moment. You'll receive this sta-
tion properly when you go through the
channels in a different standard.
Repeat station search until you have
run through all the channels and have
stored the stations found.
In this way you can store up to 39
stations. Selecting program places
11-39 is described in "Program Selec-
tion".

through select the SECAM L standard
(France):

channel 2. First press button «10»
and then button «2». Display:
Ch 02.
Let the station search run through all
the channels again. (They are now the
French channels table page 20.)
Some stations might have a distorted
picture because they have a different
standard. Leave out these stations. To
store stations with good reception
press one of the program buttons.
«1... 10» until Pr on the display has
stopped blinking. Select the NTSC
standard when all the stations have
been stored or when the station
search doesn't stop because no sta-
tion is being received.
1. Press button «C» until S and a
flashing number appear.
2. Press button «3» for the NTSC
standard. Display: S 3.
3. As soon as Ch-- appears select
channel 2. First press button «10»
and then button «2», Display:
Ch 02.
Repeat station search through all
channels and store the stations found.
All the stations you found during the
first run through will have sound
distortion due to the NTSC standard
you have selected. Leave out these
stations. You have already stored
them.
After this search runthrough you've
now run through the TV channels in
all the standards and have stored the
stations.
Only if you receive French channels
via cable can you select a special
standard:
1. Press button «C» until S and a
flashing number appear.
2. Press button «4» for the standard.
