3.6 Storage Drives

The system supports eight E1.S solid state drives (SSDs) that are 9.5mm or 15mm. Two M.2
SSDs are installed by the manufacturer.
Note: Enterprise-level storage modules are recommended for use in Supermicro servers. For

Installation and Maintenance

Each E1.S SSD has two LED indicators.
To install or replace a drive, lift the latch on the front and pull. Carefully slide the new drive in.

Checking the Temperature of an NVMe Drive

There are two ways to check using the BMC Dashboard.
Checking a Drive
BMC Dashboard > Server Health > NVMe SSD – Shows the temperatures of all NVMe
drives.
BMC Dashboard > Server Health > Sensor Reading > NVME_SSD – Shows the single
highest temperature among all the NVMe drives.
