ADJUSTMENT
Automatic adjustment mode of playback system
¢ Self-adjustment items
- Correction of sensitivity of playback meter amplifier
(L, R)
- Adjustment of playback level of A-deck (L, R)
- Adjustment of playback level of B-deck (L, R)
¢ Contents and procedure of adjustment
(1) Correction of sensitivity of meter for adjustment of
playback (L, R) : Initial setting
(2) Adjustment of playback level of L/Rch of A-deck
Writing of adjustment data of playback of A-deck
(When playback of A-deck is finished normally)
(3) Adjustment of playback level of L/Rch of B-deck
Writing of adjustment data of playback of B-deck
(When playback of B-deck is finished normally)
¢ Setting
- System (A-E5+X-E5) :
Shorting the test pin of (X28) (TP4 —BE TP6) by a
diode, press the POWER
key of the receiver (A-E5).
» Unit (X-E5) :
Shorting the test pin of (X28) (TP4 —-PF- TP6) by a
diode, press the POWER switch of the power supply
jig.
« Resetting
System (A-E5+X-E5) :
Press the [CCRS/CRLS] key or POWER key to turn
off the power.
» Unit (X-E5) :
Turn off the POWER switch of the power supply jig
or short No. 1 and No. 7 of CN9 (X28).
* lf the [CCRS/CRLS] key is pressed or No. 1 and No. 7
of CN9Q (X28) are shorted to each other, TEST 1 is
selected.
Starting condition
Adjustment of playback of A/B-deck
If the A-deck or B-deck has half, the A-deck or B-deck
adjustment mode is accepted.
Either or both decks having halves are adjusted in the
order of Aand B.
Only the deck(s) and only the channel(s) which has
(have) not been adjusted is(are) adjusted at this time.
Normally, if playback of a channel is adjusted, the
REC EQ/BIAS are set again in the unadjusted condi-
tion.
If the playback modes of both A- and B-decks have
been adjusted, the adjustment is finished without ad-
justing anything.
If either deck does not have half, adjustment is
judged to be ERR and finished.

When
performing this operation, press the keys of
the receiver having the names of the above keys used
in the normal mode.
For example, since the [CCRS/CRLS] key is used as
the key for resetting in the normal mode, the [CCRS/
SRLS] key of the receiver is used for this purpose.
Since data cannot be output in series for the adjust-
ment in the system mode, the adjustment value is indi-
cated by the counter of the receiver.
Set the selector
of the receiver to TAPE at this time, however.

- Correction of sensitivity of recording meter amplifier
(L, R)
- Adjustment of recording level of B-deck (L, R)
- Adjustment of recording bias of B-deck (L, R)
¢ Contents and procedure of adjustment
(1) Correction of sensitivity of meter for adjustment of
recording (L, R) : Initial setting
(2) Adjustment of recording level of L/Rch of B-deck
Writing of adjustment data of recording equalizer of
B-deck (When recording of B-deck is finished nor-
mally)
(3) Adjustment of recording bias of L/Rch of B-deck
Writing of adjustment data of bias of B-deck (When
recording of B-deck is finished normally)
(4) Writing of finish data (When all items are finished
normally)
¢ Setting
System (A-E5+X-E5) :
Shorting the test pin of (X28) (TP4 —-BE TP6) by a
diode, press the POWER key of the receiver (A-E5).
Unit (X-E5) :
Shorting the test pin of (X28) (TP4 —-PF TP6) by a
diode, press the POWER switch of the power supply
jig.
