Description:
Amplifier gain is measured at the maximum and minimum points of its frequency response (see
Figures 1 and 2). The difference between highest measured gain and lowest measured gain should be
less than 3 dB (gain flatness). Half of the sum of highest gain and lowest gain is measured mean gain
and should be within 1.5 dB of specified gain. Compression is checked by measuring gain at the
specified 1 dB compression point and comparing it to gain measured below compression.
