    Chapter 1 Introduction Welcome to the ROCKY-4782E2V SOCKET 478 PENTIUM 4 Single Board Computer. The ROCKY-4782E2V board is an ISA/PCI form factor board, which comes with a high performance processor and advanced high performance multi-mode I/O, designed for the system manufacturers, integrators, or VARs that want to provide all the performance, reliability, and quality at a reasonable price.

All connectors have the same pin assignments and there is a “rotation” pin in fan connector to transmit the fan’s rotation signal to system for the BIOS to detect the fan speed.

    Chapter 4 AWARD BIOS Setup This chapter discusses the AWARD Setup program built into the BIOS. The Setup program allows the user to configure the system, which is then stored in battery-backed CMOS RAM so that the Setup information is retained after the power is turned off.

    Getting Help Press F1 to pop up a small help window that describes the appropriate keys to use and the possible selections for the highlighted item. To exit the Help Window press <Esc> or the <F1> again. After making and saving system changes with Setup, if you discover that your computer no longer is able to boot, the Award BIOS supports an override to the CMOS settings which resets your system to its defaults.

    Wake Up Events Wake Up events are I/O events whose occurrence can prevent the system from entering a power saving mode or can awaken the system from such a mode. In effect, the system remains alert for anything that occurs to a device configured as On, even when the system is in a power down mode.

    Appendix A Watchdog Timer The Watchdog Timer is a device to ensure that standalone systems can always recover from abnormal conditions that cause the system to crash.
