Transmit Basics
1. Select the desired
operating
frequency
in the MAIN

band using any of the methods previously discussed.
2. Check
the frequency to see
if it is occupied
before
you transmit.
3. Press the PTT switch. The ON AIR indicator will light,
and the RF meter will deflect to the right.
lf you have selected the LOW power position, the low
indicator will appear in the display and the RF meter
will only deflect
slightly.
When
HI power
has
been
selected the RF meter will swing full scale.
4. Speak
into
the — microphone.The
distance to the microphone is 5 cm (2 inches).
