TONE ALERT SYSTEM
The Tone
Alert function
provides
an audible
alarm
to
indicate
when
someone
is
transmitting
on
the
frequency
you
are
monitoring.
When
the
T.ALT
function
is set, you will not hear voice communication.
When
used
in conjunction with the CTCSS
function, this
would
allow the transceiver
to act similar to a private
paging
system.
During
T.ALT
operations,
the
Automatic
Power Off function is disabled.
1. Adjust each SQL control to the threshold point.
2. If you will be using the CTCSS
function,
select the
proper
tone
frequency
and
ensure
the
CTCSS
indicator is on the display.
. Press the F key, then the 4/T.ALT
key. Both T.ALT
indicators light .
4. When a signal is present:
The T.ALT indicator flashes.
The BUSY indicator lights.
The transceiver will beep on and
off for approximately 5 seconds.
The passing time is counted up.

7. The T.ALT function can be released by pressing the F
key and the 4/T.ALT key again.
@Beep Sound Selection
Pressing
and
holding the SCAN
key and turning on the
power
switch
will
switch
the
BEEP
sound
alternately
between Pi Pi Pi and Pul Pul Pul.
NOTE
The Tuning
control,
PTT switch
and
all keys except
MONI,
LAMP,
and
F
are
ineffective
during
T.ALT
operations.
