PC DRIVER INSTALLATION
For Win 98/98SE / Win ME
The ORB USB driver has to be installed before the operating system is able to
recognize and assign a driver letter to your ORB drive.
1. Insert the ORB Installation Suite CD into your CD-ROM drive. Make sure
the CD is R9 (Revision 9) or later. Otherwise, download the latest USB driver
from the Support Center on Castlewoods web site at www.castlewood.com
2. Select install driver/utilities and in the Castlewood installation window, select
the language appropriate to your use and under drive selection, choose USB
then click OK.
3. Follow the on-screen installation prompts.
4. The installation is completed after the system is rebooted. After the drive is
connected to the computer system (see Section 1.8), you should see a new
removable drive icon in My Computer.
For Win 2000(SP2+) / Win XP
There is no driver required from Castlewood. The drive needed is built in the
operating system.
1. Later on, when you connect the drive to the system you will see a New
Hardware Found message. Win 2000 (SP2+)/Win XP will automatically
install a USB Mass Storage Device driver for your Castlewood ORB drive.
When you upgrade your system from Win 98 to Win 2000, you might see a
message indicating that you need to obtain a new driver from Castlewood. Ignore
it and click on the ORB USB drive.
