REAR PANEL CONNECTIONS
All connections to the rear pail shoud be made with the power
to the entire system turned off. To avoid confusion, connect one
cable at a time between the different components of your
system. This is the safest way to avoid cross-connecting chan-
nels or confusing signal inputs with outputs.
@) LINE INPUTS
@) MAINS CONNECTION
With the POWER switch set to the OFF position, plug the mains
lead into a mains outlet providing the proper voltage.
FRONT PANEL FEATURES
©) POWER SWITCH
Use this switch to turn the unit on and off.
"The mains switch is secondary connected and does not
disconnect the entire set from the mains."
© EJECT BUTTON
Press this button to open the cassette compartment.
® CASSETTE COMPARTMENT
TIMER SWITCH
PLAY:
REC:
By using a commercially available audio timer, this function
allows you to carry out unattended recording.
OFF:
;
When the audio timer is not in use, set to this position.
SYNC REC. (PLAY position):
When this unit is connected with a Marantz CD asi equipped
with the Synchro Recording function, synchronous recording
with the start of CD player is made possible by connecting it to
the REMOTE CONT. BUS jacks on the rear panel of this unit.
@) RESET BUTTON
Press this button to reset the counter reading to "G0 00" or play
time to "0000".
MEMO BUTTON
Memory Stop:
LL
When the tape attains the position which has been stated in the
memory during a fast-forward or rewind operation, it stops at the
memory position.
Memory Clear:
If the MEMO button is pressed again while a tape position has
been stored in the memory, the MEMO
indicator goes off and
the memory is cleared.
Memory Change:
:
To change the tape position stored in the memory, clear the
previous memory and set the memory again at the desired
position.
'@) DISPLAY
@) FUNCTION INDICATORS
Displays the current function when an operation button is
pressed.
(©) MEMO INDICATOR
Lights up when the MEMO button is pressed.
©) DIGITAL TAPE COUNTER
Displays the current tape position as an amount it has
traveled from the reference position.
@) REC INDICATOR
Lights up when the @ (REC) button is pressed.
©) TAPE MONITOR INDICATORS
The TAPE and SOURCE indicators light up alternately every
time the MONITOR button is pressed.
© TAPE TYPE INDICATORS
One of the indicators lights up to indicate the type & tape
in the cassette compartment.
The METAL indicator lights up when there is no cassette in
the cassette compartment.
@ HX PRO INDICATOR
Lights up permanently so that the HX-PRO operation is
activated automatically during recording.
(h) DOLBY B/DOLBY C NR INDICATORS
The B or C indicator lights up ore
to the setting of the
DOLBY NR switch.
@ PEAK LEVEL METERS
Display the left and right levels in dB.
'.@ D-MODE BUTTON
When this button is pressed during recording, the tape counter |
display changes to the peak-level display.
@3) MONITOR BUTTON
This.unit uses the auto monitoring system. If you wish to monitor
the input source signal during recording, press this button so that
the SOURCE indicator lights up.
To return to the monitoring of the recorded tape sound, press the
button again so that the TAPE indicator lights up.
