CHANGING FRONT PANELS
Your Compactor comes equipped with two reversible front panels painted Almond/White
and Harvest Wheat/Onyx Black, providing four front panel colors from which to choose.
Additional Compactor Front Panels are available in Fresh Avocado/Coffee or Stainless
Steel from your KitchenAid Dealer.
If you want to change the color of the panels, follow these steps:
LITTER BIN® DOOR PANELS:
1. DISCONNECT POWER SUPPLY TO COMPACTOR
BEFORE CHANGING PANEL.
2. Open Litter Bin Door and remove three retaining screws in door handle; remove handle.
3. Slide panel out. HANDLE
CAREFULLY
SO THE PANELS WILL NOT BE
SCRATCHED OR BENT. Replace panel so the desired color is exposed.
4. Replace the handle and screws.
DRAWER PANELS — RECESSED UNIT:
1. DISCONNECT
POWER
SUPPLY TO COM-
PACTOR BEFORE CHANGING PANEL.
2. Be sure ram is in "up" position.
3. Open drawer to fully extended position.
4. Remove drawer retaining screws (A) which
hold drawer to track assembly. Carefully re-
move drawer from track assembly, making sure
that full weight of drawer is supported at ail
times.
5. Tilt drawer on its back.
6. Remove three retaining screws in lower drawer
trim. Remove loosened trim. Slide panel out.
HANDLE CAREFULLY SO THE PANELS WILL NOT BE SCRATCHED OR BENT.
Replace panel so desired color is exposed, making sure that handle trim bezel
is placed into slots in panels.
7. Replace trim and screws.
8. Re-attach drawer to track and replace drawer retaining screws.
DRAWER PANELS — FREE STANDING UNIT:
1. DISCONNECT POWER SUPPLY TO COMPACTOR
BEFORE CHANGING
PANEL.
2. Tilt compactor toward rear. DO NOT LAY UNIT ON ITS BACK OR DAMAGE TO
CORD MAY RESULT.
3. Remove three retaining screws in lower drawer trim. Remove loosened trim and
slide panels out. HANDLE CAREFULLY SO THE PANELS WILL NOT BE
SCRATCHED
OR BENT. Replace panel so desired color is exposed, making
sure that handle trim bezel is placed into slots in panels.
4. Replace trim and screws.
CUSTOM FRONT PANELS TO ACCENT KITCHEN DECOR
The stainless steel trim will also accommodate a locally purchased wood front up
to Y-inch thick. For more instructions on installing a wood front, refer to the In-
stallation Instructions.
