| AS.E.S. (Aute Synchro Editing System)
This function can be used with the Pioneer CD player PD-Z65, PD-
Z75T or PD-Z85M.
For automatic recording of a CD to a cassette tape. This unit offers
three kinds of A.S.E.S. operation.
@ The numbers are the CD track numbers
FADE:
© The sound fades out automatically at the end of the tape.
® The track that is faded out during recording on side A is recorded
from the beginning again on side B.

FINE:
®To minimize the amount of unused tape at the end of the tape
length to be used, the CD player automatically programs track
numbers (COMPU PGMM). Tracks are then recorded in the order pro-
grammed.

DISCO:
© When recording, this provides cross-fade between tracks (the end
of the track currently being recorded fades out as the beginning of
the next track fades in).
® Sound aiso fades out at the end of the tape, in the same way as in
the FADE mode.
Leader tape
When recording starts in the forward direction ( > } at the end of the
tape, the tape reverses and recording resumes in the reverse { <4) di-
rection.
In the FADE and FINE modes, a silent passage about five seconds
long is inserted between tracks during recording.
IFADE, DISCO]
1. Put a disc in the CD player.
2. Put a tape to be recorded in deck Ii.
3. Set DOLBY NR switch to the desired position.
4. Torecord the sound passed through the sound image control-
fer, turn on SOUND CONTROL ON/OFF button and adjust the
sound quality.
5. Press the desired ASES button [FADE (FINE) or DISCO].
lftape remains, you can change CDs and continue recording by using
ASES (FADE, DISCO only).
Perform 1-5, ASES will finish temporarily.
6. Change CD.

Press PAUSE button.
@ The Direction Indicator part of the display will flash in the direc-
tion of tape travel and recording will begin in that direction.

8. Press ASES button (FADE or DISCO).
® Begin LINK ASES.
© With LINK A:
ifthe CD playing time is shorter than the tape,
ASES will finish in the REC PAUSE condition. If you wish to con-
tinue and record a different CD, change COs and press the ASES
button (FADE or DISCO)
¢@ In the following situation, ASES will finish in the STOP condi-
tion.
*If the CD playing time is longer than the tape
[FINE]
1. Put a disc in the CD piayer.
® With PD-Z85M. put CDs in trays 1 and 2.
2. Put a tape to be recorded in deck fl.
3. Set DOLBY NR switch to the desired position.
4. Torecord the sound passed through the sound image control-
ler, turn on SOUND CONTROL ON/OFF button and adjust the
sound quality.
5. Perform COMPU EDIT with the CD player for the selected tape
length.
® Please refer to the operating instructions of your CD player
6. Press the FADE (FINE) button.
If you stop A.S.E.S. operation part way through, press Deck II's STOP.
