Transmitting Program Changes
Press [SYN STRINGS] so the indicator lights.
To transmit a Program Change in number format,
press the keyboard keys (0-9) that correspond to the
Program number (1-128) you wish to transmit, then
press the ENTER key (E).
To transmit a Program Change in
Group/Bank/Number format, press the keys that cor-
respond to the Group (A or B), Bank (1-8) and
Number (1-8), then press the ENTER key (E).

Press [E. PIANO] so the indicator lights.
Press the keyboard keys (0-9) that correspond to the
Bank Select MSB number (0-127) that you wish to
transmit, then press the ENTER key (E).

Press [STRINGS] so the indicator lights.
Press the keyboard keys (0-9) that correspond to the
Bank Select LSB number (0-127) that you wish to
transmit, then press the ENTER key (E).

Transposing the Keyboard
Transposition can be set using the buttons on the
panel (page 8), or when the FP-1 is in the MIDI func-
tion mode (while the [FUNCTION] indicator is flash-
ing).
For example, to play a piece in E major using the fin-
gering of C major, press the highest E on the key-
board (while the [FUNCTION] indicator is flashing).
Now when you play a C major scale, you'll actually
hear the pitches of the E major scale.
Press the keynote of the key you wish to transpose to
OMNI On/Off
When set to OMNI On, the FP-1 will always respond
to incoming MIDI messages, regardless of which MIDI
channel they are received on. Thus, OMNI On can be
selected when you want to play the FP-1 without hav-
ing to worry about MIDI channels.
To select OMNI
On, press the highest note on the key-
board while the [FUNCTION] indicator is flashing.
* Setting a specific MIDI channel will automatically turn
the OMNI function Off.
