You can make adjustments to reduce the image density difference in the direction perpendicular to the
paper feed direction and print to check the adjustment result.
Perform this to adjust noticeable image density difference in the perpendicular direction.
This includes printing to check the adjustment result for adjustment, but it allows you to perform
adjustment with higher accuracy than [Density Difference: Across Feed] in [Execute Image Quality
Adjustment].
1.
Make sure you have at least 9 sheets of A3 or larger paper. (11 or more sheets when
combined with printing for checking the adjustment result)
Paper of the following attributes is supported:
• Size: regular-size paper of 279.4-330.2 mm wide and 420.0-487.68 mm long (banner
sheets are not supported.)
• Paper type: Coated: Glossy (Whiteness: 80-100%, Basis weight: 67-352g/m
intensity: 0-11.9)

Load paper into one of the paper trays.

On the [Density Difference Printing: Across Feed] menu, select the paper tray in which the
paper is loaded.

Press [Execute].
After the adjustment is executed, 9 sheets (1 + 8 sheets) of paper are printed for adjustment. The
machine will stop and start its operation multiple times.
5.
Select whether or not to perform printing to check the adjustment result.
6.
Press [Apply].
If you do not apply the adjustment value, press [Stop].
• If a message prompting you to clean the line sensor is displayed, clean the line sensor before
making adjustments.
