5. Troubleshooting

This section describes countermeasures to be taken when trouble occurs during the use of the card. Take an
appropriate action to solve the problem.
5-1. Troubleshooting
An error message appears while booting the server:
Refer to the manual provided with the CPU blade.
If the slot containing the card is assumed to be the error cause, check the following:
An error occurred in the slot to which the card is installed.
→ Connect the card once again.
If the same error message still appears, remove the card, and install it into
another mezzanine slot. Restart the server and check the POST screen. If
POST completes normally, the server may be faulty. Contact your service

The card does not work normally:
If the OS or the application program does not work normally after installed the card, check the following
points. See also the manual that comes with the CPU blade.
Has the LAN driver been installed in the relevant CPU blade? Or, is the CPU Blade setup correctly?
→ Refer to the manual provided with the CPU blade.
Are the card and cables connected firmly?
→ Firmly connect them once again.
Are the mezzanine slot to which the card is installed, location of the slot to which the CPU blade is
installed, and the installation location of switch module corresponding to the card such as 1Gb
Intelligent L2 Switch is installed appropriate?
→ Refer to the manuals of the CPU Blade, Blade Enclosure, installed switch module.
If the same error persists, remove the card, restart the CPU blade, and check
the POST screen. If POST completes normally, the card may be faulty. Contact
your service representative.
