• Power Up the SMB Controller The Mitel Small to Medium Business Controller (SMBC) is a hardware platform that supports the MiVoice Business call processing software. This topic provides a brief overview of the SMB Controller loaded with the MiVoice Business solution software, the positioning within the MiVoice Business series and the networking possibilities.
Mitel Embedded Linux Software: a customized version of the Linux operating system that is specifically designed and optimized for SMB Controller. It is lightweight, easy to use and maintain, and provides a reliable and robust platform for running the Mitel software and it allows easy integration with other Mitel products and solutions.
Page 14
Is an all-in-one solution for MiVoice Business that includes features such as voicemail, call routing, and conference calling, as well as other functionalities like Mitel Border Gateway, Mitel Cloud Gateway, Mitel Performance Analytics Probe, and Initial Configuration Wizard. It allows an easy setup and administration of the communication system and provides a web-based management.

Custom mode, which allows the MiVoice Border Gateway to be deployed in a customer's DMZ (i.e., behind an external NAT firewall). • Deployment using all three Mitel Border Gateway NIC Interfaces is not supported on the SMB Controller Mitel Border Gateway. SIP Trunks and Teleworker Phones must be on the same WAN Interface.
Page 16
At initial installation, no IP address assigned to Eth1. • The Mitel Border Gateway requires two IP addresses: one for the ISP and one for the LAN. • The Server Only mode is not supported by the SMB Controller Mitel Border Gateway.
2.2.1 SMB Controller Manager The SMB Controller is a pre-installed web-based configuration tool available on all Mitel SMB Controller, independent of a loaded call manager or other software application. It offers a simple, user-friendly interface and an online help for some basic configurations possibilities and maintenance tasks as follows: •...

About Mitel Performance Analytics Probe The Mitel Performance Analytics Probe blade is an optional blade that provides integration with Mitel Performance Analytics Cloud Service. For more information about Mitel Performance Analytics, see https://www.mitel.com/document-center/applications/analytics/mitel-performance-analytics. Limitations: • The embedded Mitel Performance Analytics Probe is intended only to handle the functions and Users of a single SMB Controller.
Initial Configuration Wizard Blade will be launched only if at least MiVoice Business Blade is installed. On the Initial Configuration Wizard, provision MiVoice Business and the MiVoice Border Gateway. Figure 24: Initial Configuration Wizard for New System Document Version 1.0 System Manual for Mitel SMB Controller...
ICW Backup and Restore The Initial Configuration Wizard (ICW) triggers MSL scripts to perform a full MSL data backup before configuring the system. The backup file (backup.tgz) will be stored in the /var/cache/ vucc/databases folder of the file system. The backup file will be deleted after the configuration is completed successfully or if the Initial Configuration Wizard blade is uninstalled.
MiVoice Business Solution on SMB Controller is designed to be highly flexible and fits into different deployment models because multiple embedded applications such as MiVoice Border Gateway, Mitel Performance Analytics Probe, Initial Configuration Wizard, and CloudLink Gateway can be installed along-side the MiVoice Business application.
