RECORDING
RELAY RECORDING

Recording Using Both Decks in Sequence
=
. Insert cassette tapes for recording into both decks.
2. Set each type of the DOLBY NR switch on each deck @ or
@.
* The type of the DOLBY NR system can be set separately for
DECKs | and Il.
. Set the REVERSE MODE switch © (see page 11).
. Set the recording source on the amplifier.
. Set the tape transportation direction for recording (see page
10).
Set the separate direction for DECKs | and Il.
. Press the recording button (@) on DECK I.
. Adjust the recording level (see page 14).
. Press the RELAY/SKIP button @.
The [RELAY/SKIP] indicator lights.
9. Press the pause button (1) on DECK I.
Relay recording starts from DECKs | to Il.

B® Recording Pause
Press the pause button (fl) on the deck in operation.
Press the button again to resume recording.

Recording Completion
Press the stop button (lM) on the deck in operation.

Relay Recording Release
Press the RELAY/SKIP button @ again.
(The
indicator turns off.)
Press the button once to release relay recording. To resume
relay recording, replace the recorded tape with a new tape, then
press the RELAY/SKIP button @ again.
(The
indicator lights.)

NOTES:

When erasure prevention tabs are broken, you cannot record
even if you press the recording button (@).

Always set TIMER switch © to OFF.
You cannot relay-record from DECKs I to I.
@
When
a tape reaches
the end, DECK | automatically stops
recording. then DECK Il starts recording. It automatically stops
recording when the tape reaches the end.
PARALLEL RECORDING
@ Recording Using Both Decks Simultaneously
1. Insert cassette tapes into both decks for recording.
2. Set the type of the DOLBY NR switch on DECK | (9.
* You cannot set different types of the DOLBY NR system for
DECKs | and Il.
(The type of the DOLBY NR system for DECK | is applied to
DECK Il. Therefore, the setting for DECK Il is ignored and the
indicator for it is the same as the one set for DECK I.)
. Set the REVERSE MODE switch © (see page 11).
. Set the sound source on the amplifier for recording.
. Set the tape transportation direction for recording (see page
10).
Set separate directions for DECKs | and Il.
. Press the recording button (@) on DECK J.
. Adjust the recording level (see page 14).
. Press the stop button (M@) on DECK I.
. Press PARALLEL REC button @.
Both DECKs | and II start recording the same sound source.

Parallel Recording Pause
Press the pause button (fll) on either deck (both decks pause).

Parallel Recording Completion
Press the stop button (Ml) on either deck (both decks pause).
NOTES:

When
either tape reaches
the end,
parallel recording
completes. Therefore, use the same length tapes for both decks.

/f the erasure prevention tabs are broken, you cannot parallel-
record even if you press PARALLEL REC
button @®.
@ Always start recording from the forward direction (FWD) for
repeat recording. Otherwise, the tape automatically stops when
it reaches the end in the reverse direction.
®@ Since the recording level adjustment effects both decksequally,
it is recommended to use the same type of cassette tapes.
e@ /fyou press the recording mute button (Q), both decks errter the
recording mute mode (see page 14).
