Install the drive carrier in the enclosure

Steps
1. Open the release handle on the drive carrier.
2. Align the drive carrier with the target slot and gently push the drive carrier into the slot.
3. Close the release handle to lock the drive in place.
Verify that the activity light flashes to indicate that the spin-up sequence has begun.

Loading drives in the enclosure

The following list describes the ideal installation pattern providing the best airflow and thermal performance:
● Populate the slots from the rear of the enclosure first, closest to the PSU.
● The minimum number of drives in an enclosure is 12.
● If it is not possible to fill a complete row, insert drive blanks to fill the empty slots in each row.
● Do not partially populate multiple rows. Fill each row before proceeding to the next row.

Install the system cover

Once you have installed all the drives, install the system cover.
Steps
1. Position the system cover on top of the enclosure and slowly slide it back towards the rear of the enclosure until it stops.
2. Tighten the two thumbscrews to secure the system cover.
