when the hob heats up for the first

. . . A cooking zone switches itself off
during use?
This is not a fault.
If the cooking zone is used for an un-
usually long period of time the safety
switch is activated.
The length of time, between approx
1 – 10 hours, depends on the setting
which has been programmed. The
higher the setting the shorter the time
before the automatic safety switch is
activated.
To use the cooking zone again:
Turn the cooking zone control first of
all to another setting and then back
to the setting originally used.
If the setting is altered during the cook-
ing process the time will be calculated
according to the most recently selected
setting.
. . . The contents in the pan are not
properly cooked or have not started
to cook?
Check whether:
You are using a pan with a heat re-
taining bottom surface.
The heat from the bottom of the pan will
transfer slowly to the food.
You are using too large a pan.
In both of the above cases, choose a
higher heat-up level or bring to the boil
at setting 12 and then turn down.
