IMPORTANT NOTE: When viewi% theon semen
menus using aCR_based p rojectoh p lasma d isplay or
anydirect v iewCBTmonitor or television, it is important
thathey notbelefton thescreen toranextended p eriod
oftime. T heconstant display o f a static image suchas
these menus or video gameimages maycause the
image to be permanently "burned i nto"theprojecbon
tubes, p lasma s creen or CR1. Thistyped damage isnot

tionadjustments, it isrecommended t hatthe FullOSD

Making ConfigurationAdjustments
ThefullOSDsystem isavailable by pressing t he OSD
Button _,. Whenthisbuttonis pressed, t he
MASTER MENU (Figure 1) will appear; and
adjustments aremadefromthe individual menus.

Setting the SystemConfigurationMemory
TheAVR335 features an advanced m emon/system
thatenables youto establish d ifferent c onfigurations
forthe speaker c onfigurafion, digital i nput,surround
mode.delaytimes, c rossover trequency andoutput
levelsforeachinputsource. Thisflexibility e nables you
to customize t he wayinwhichyou listen to each
source andhavetheAVR335 memorize t hoseset
tings. T hismeans, forexample, thatyou mayusedif-
ferent o utputlevels or trimsfordifferent s ources, or
setdifferent s peaker c onfigurations withtheresultant
changes t o the bassmanagement system. O nce these
settings am made. t heywillautomaficafly be recalled
whenever youselect t hatinput.
However. we recommend t hatthefirsttimeyouuse
theA\/R335. youtakeadvantage o f the simplicity o f
configuring t he system usingthe EzSet+ process.

systemandroom.Beforebeginning t he EzSet+ pro
cedure, t hereareafewadjustments thatneedto be

Thefactory default s ettings fortheAVR335 haveall
inputs configured forananalogaudioinputexcept f or
the DVDinput, w here the CoaxialDigitalAudio
Input 1 €_)isthe default. Thedetault s peaker s ettings
are"Small" f orthe frontleft!right, c enterandsurround
left/right p ositions, and"None" forthe surround back
left/right a ndthe subwoofer. Thedetault s ettingforthe
surround modesforallanalog inputsis the Logic7
Music mode.DolbyDigital o r DTSwillautomaficafly be
selected asappropriate w heneitherof thosebitstream
typesisdetected. W hena 2 channel DolbyDigital
sourceis present, D olbyProLogicIIwill alsobe
selected automatically.
Beforeusing the unit.youwill probably wantto
change the setl]ngs formostinputssothattheyare
propedy configured t o reflecttheuseof digitalor ana-
loginputs andthesurround modespecifics of your
hometheater s ystem. R emember thatsincethe
AVR335 memorizes the settings f or eachinputindi
vidually, youwill need to maketheseadjustments for
eachinputused.However. oncetheyaremade. f urther
adjustment is onlyrequired whensystem components
arechanged.
Tomakethisprocess as quickandeasyaspossible.
wesuggest t hatyouusethefullOSDsystem with
the on-screen menus, andstepthrough eachinput.
Onceyou havecompleted t he settings forthe first
input, m anysettings maybe duplicatad forthe
remaining i nputs. I t isalsoa goodideato setthe
configuration d atainthe ordertheseitemsarelisted
inthe MAS T E R MEN U. as somesettings require
a specific entryina priormenuitem.Remember that
oncethe settings aremadeforoneinput, t heymust
be made forall otherinputsources inyoursystem.
Input Setup
Thefirststepinconfiguring t heAVR335 is toconfigure
eachinput. O nceaninputisselectad, all settings for
the Digital I nput.Speaker C onfiguration. Surround
ModeandDelay Timing will"attach" t hemselves to that
inputandbe storedina nonvolatile m emory. This
means thatoncemade. t he selection of an inputwill
automatically recall t hosesettings. F orthatreason, t he
procedures described belowmustbe repeated for
eachinputsource sothatyouhavethe opportunity t o
customize e achsource to yourspecific listening
requirements. However. oncemade. t heyneednotbe
changed againunless youneedto altera se11:ing.
