Output Level Adjustment
Output l evel a djustment isa keypartof the configure
tionof anysurround soundproduct. I t is particularly
important fora digitalreceiver s uchastheAVR335.
ascorrect o utputs ensurethatyouhearsoundtracks
withthe proper d irectionality andintensity.
IMPORTANT N OTE: L istenem are oftenconfused
aboutthe operation of thesurround channels. While
someassume thatsoundshouldalways be coming
fromeachspeaker, m ostof the timetherewill be little
or no sound in the surround channels. Thisis because
theyareonlyusedwhena moviedirector or sound
mixerspecifically p laces soundthereto createambi
enceor a special e ffect,or to continue action%m
the frontof the mornto the rear. W henthe output
levelsare properly set.it is normal f or surround
speakers to operateonlyoccasionally. Artificially
increasing the volume to the rearspeakers may
destroythe illusionof anenveloping soundfieldthat

If youhavealready calibrated y oursystem using
EzSet+ the delaysettings shown will reflect t he results
of the measurements madeby EzSet+. N ofurther
changes a reneeded unless youwishto change a
specific itemto reflect y ourpersonal tasteor a non
standard system configuration.

makefinetuning adjuslments t o the levelsobtained
usingthe EzSet+.
