INSTALLATION The telephone can operate in two different modes with two or four wires. Connected with two wires, it acts as a normal multifunctional telephone and can also make direct calls and access the switchboard services. Operating with four wires, the telephone is always on, displays the telephone activity of the entire system and, on pre-set switchboards, makes the services associated with smart cards available.

ROGRAMMING THE SWITCHBOARD TYPE You can select the type of switchboard connected to the telephone. This programming is essential for good signaling. Select “Customize | Switchboard type” and select the switchboard type from the list (see page 35). VISUAL INFORMATION TIME 3000 provides visual information on the switchboard status on the display and with the LEDs associated with the keys. ISPLAYED INFORMATION The meaning of symbols and messages that appear on the display is explained below. Advanced information (date, calling identification, etc.) are not displayed if TIME 3000 is connected to a non-K switchboard.

Meanings can be different if TIME 3000 is connected to a non-K switchboard (for example, no flash). Time 3000 ‘P’ and Time 3000 ‘S’ Some keys of TIME 3000 are associated with a LED. The LED’s show the key status. Example: If the L1 key LED is on, it means that the line is busy and cannot be used until the conversation is cleared.
FUNCTIONAL KEYS Below is the descriptions of the default settings of the keys, regardless of the switchboard type. The keys can be however programmed by the user according to this specific requirements. The LED’s associated with the keys go on for approximately 4 seconds to confirm key pressing (if pressing generates an internal or external call, the LED’s act as described on page 17).

DSS MODULE The DSS module has been designed to allow for quick dial and easy monitor of the telephone activity. The module is compatible with TIME 3000 P and TIME 3000 S and factory-set to make direct calls and display the status of the first 40 extensions. The DSS keys can be programmed by the user for quick dial.
SSIGNING FUNCTIONS TO THE KEYS To assign functions to the DSS keys, start the procedure described below and then refer to the description of the specific function. Ø Select “Customize” | “Programmable keys” Ø Select the key to program “TEL 1”… “TEL16” or “DSS 1”… “DSS40” Assigning a direct dial You can assign a number for quick dial to any DSS key.
Assigning a card You can assign the possibility of calling and monitoring a smart card registered in the system to any of the 40 DSS keys. The display of the card telephone traffic and the possibility of calling the card directly are assigned to the same key-LED combination even if the card is moved from one terminal to another.
SMART CARD The Smart Card allows you to have a sort of “personal virtual telephone” that you can always keep with you. Once you have inserted the card in the slot, TIME 3000 becomes your personal telephone and you can manage your call list, number store, acoustic parameters, etc.
