If the lamp illuminates when driving, this may indicate that the generator is not charging the battery. If the generator drive belt is intact, there is a problem in the charging system and you should see your Holden Dealer. Door ajar lamp The door ajar lamp illuminates if any door is not fully closed, when the ignition switch is turned to the ON or START position.

Chapter 1-12 DASHBOARD TURN SIGNALS AND IGNITION SWITCH Turn signals The turn signal lever is on the right-hand side of the steering column. Push the lever up to signal a left turn and down to signal a right turn. In some turns (such as changing lanes), the steering wheel is not turned far enough to cancel the turn signal.

The engine must be running in order for the feature to work. Set the fan position to 1, 2, 3, or 4 to begin air circulation. An indication light will illuminate on the button when the air conditioning is in use.

Keyless entry using remote control The range of the remote control unit should be about 6 metres, this may be reduced due to shadowing and reflection of the radio waves.

Injured people can choke to death if their air passages are not cleared. They can bleed to death unless the bleeding is stopped. Chapter 6 EMERGENCIES TOWING YOUR DISABLED VEHICLE Emergency towing Proper lifting or towing equipment is necessary when lifting or towing the vehicle to prevent damage. State and local laws must be followed. In an emergency, the vehicle may be towed on all four wheels in the following manner: Fit the towing equipment to the front towing eyes located under the front bumper.

Chapter EMERGENCIES ENGINE OVERHEATING WARNING: Immediate action is required if the engine overheats. This can be indicated by the temperature gauge needle moving to the red zone, by steam escaping from under the bonnet, a loss of power or a loud knocking or pinging noise. Continued driving even for a short time could result in a fire or vehicle damage.

Chapter 6 6-12 EMERGENCIES FLAT BATTERY Do not push start or tow start your vehicle. I f unburnt fuel were to reach the catalytic converter and ignite, the converter could overheat or be destroyed by backfire. Therefore, if the battery is flat, you can jump start, but not push start your vehicle.

Chapter 6 6 1 3 EMERGENCIES FLAT BATTERY cont. The battery in your vehicle has a negative earth and a 12 volt rating. The battery in the other vehicle must also have a negative earth and a 12 volt rating. Position the two vehicles so that they are not touching, apply the park brakes, if your vehicle is fitted with an automatic transmission, place in P (park) or for a manual transmission, place into neutral.

Chapter 6 6-14 EMERGENCIES AIR BAGS Operation The vehicle is fitted with front airbags and side impact airbags for both the driver and front passenger. The driver's airbag is stored inside the steering wheel, AIRBAG is stamped on the steering wheel. The front passenger's airbag is stored in the dash panel.

• AIRBAGS cont. may indicate that there is a fault in the airbag system. Consult your Holden Dealer as soon as possible. If the airbag system is handled incorrectly it can be set off for up to seconds after the ignition has been turned off and the battery disconnected, and cause injury.

It is recommended that any work to the electrical system, steering column, dashboard area, steering wheel or airbag system be carried out by a Holden Dealer. Bull bar Fitting a bull bar, or making other modifications to the front of the vehicle, may change the impact speed which would normally cause the airbag to inflate, reducing its effectiveness.
