Prepare the computer for disassembly

Remove the access panel
3.
Disconnect the fan cable from the system board (1).
4.
Remove the fan cable from the clips on the side of the heat sink (2).
5.
Lift fan up to about 30-45 degrees (3), and then pull it away from the heat sink (4).
To install the fan, reverse the removal procedure.
