Decoder Connections
Front amplifier:
Connect
the
recording
outputs
of the front
amplifier
to the FRONT
PREAMP
INPUT jacks, and the FRONT
PREAMP OUTPUT jacks to the tape inputs of the front amplifier.
Back amplifier:
Two pairs of outputs
are provided;
the HIGH
OUTPUT
jacks provide
2 volt output,
and
the
LOW
OUTPUT
jacks provide
500
millivolt
output.
Select
the
output
pair
according
to the sensitivity of your back
amplifier.
The SQD-2020 has tone controls for the back channel.
There-
fore, if you
use an integrated amplifier where
you can
separate
the preamplifier
and power
amplifier sections, connect the SOD-
2020
directly to the power
amplifier section.
If the integrated
amplifier has no power
amp
inputs, connect
the OUTPUT jacks
of the
SQD-2020
to the
tape
or auxiliary
inputs of the back
amplifier.
Record player, Tuner and Auxiliary Sound
Sources

Connect
these sources
to the front amplifier as usual.
Suv
records, conventional
two-channel
records,
off-the-air
programs
and auxiliary sources are played through these connections:
Two-channel Tape Recorder
For tape playback, connect the line outputs of the tape recorder
to the 2 CH TAPE RECORDER
TAPE inputs of the SQD-2020.
For tape recording,
connect
the line inputs of the tape recorder
to the
2 CH TAPE RECORDER
REC OUT jacks.
lf your
tape
recorder
has
the same
type DIN 5-pin (indicated
REC/PB)
connector
as that on
the
SQD-2020,
the
record
and
playback
connections
are made
with
a single 5-pin cable, such
as
the
Sony
Connecting
Cord
RC-2
(optional).
When
using
this
DIN
connector,
do
not
make
any
other
input
or output
connections between the SQD-2020 and the tape recorder.
