4. Basic Operations
4.1. System Boot-Up
CAUTION! Failure to follow the instructions given below may result in damage to the ESS.
1.
Switch the BMS power switch to the ON position.
2.
Press START button for one second. Wait 60 seconds for modules to initialize. Once initialized, all LEDs will be solid green.
3.
Press ON/OFF button of Savant Power Inverter. Wait 60 seconds for system to initialize.
4.
Verify LED lights on inverter:
- Status indicator solid green.
- Grid indicator off.
- Generator indicator off.
- Load indicator solid green.
- Run indicator blinking yellow, indicating PV disconnected.
CAUTION! Do not turn on PV until step 9!
5.
Close external breaker for Load output. Verify backed up loads are powered by system.
6.
Close external breaker for Grid connection and turn Grid switch to ON position. Grid LED indicator should turn green.
7.
Wait 5 minutes for inverter to make connection to grid.
8.
(First Boot of Savant Power Storage 20 Only) Switch external Grid disconnect or breaker to OFF position. Verify the Savant Power Storage 20
continues to power critical loads without issue. Reconnect the system to grid by switching external disconnect to ON position.
NOTE: Refer to
9.
Switch PV Disconnect to ON position. Run indicator should turn green and system should start producing PV power.
