@ Doneness Control Pads: (NE-9970, NE-9970C only)
Preferences for food doneness vary with each individual. After having used the Auto
Sensor Cycles a few times, you may decide you would prefer your food cooked to a
different doneness. By using the Doneness Control, the Auto Sensor programs can be
adjusted to cook food for a longer or shorter time.
Note: If you are satisfied with the result of cooking with the built-in Auto Sensor program,
you do not need to use these pads.
More Pad:
Use when you want your food to be cooked a little more than the built-in auto program.
Less Pad:
Use when you want your food to be cooked a little less than the built-in auto program.
@ Stop/Reset Pad:
Before cooking: One tap clears your instructions.
During cooking: One tap temporarily stops the cooking process. Another tap cancels all
your instructions and time of day appears in display window.
@® Start Pad:
One tap allows oven to begin functioning. If door is opened or Stop/Reset Pad is tapped
once during oven operation, Start Pad must be touched again to restart oven.
@® Display Window:
Displays time of day before or after cooking, time during cooking, weight, cooking
functions, and power levels.

® Indicator Lights:
An indicator light will turn on when a specific power level and/or the following functions are
selected: AUTO WEIGHT DEF, AUTO WEIGHT FROZ COOK, AUTO WEIGHT COMB,
CONV, COMB, BROIL, AUTO COOK (NE-9970, NE-9970C only) and DEF.
@ Cooking Guide:
Easy reference for Auto Weight Combination, Auto Weight Frozen Cook, Auto Weight
Defrost and Auto Sensor.
@ Opening Door:
Opening the door during cooking will stop the cooking process without canceling the
program. Cooking resumes as soon as the door is closed and Start Pad is touched. The
oven light will stay on or turn on whenever the door is opened.
@® Beep Sound:
When a padis touched correctly, a beep will be heard. If a pad is touched and no beep is
heard, the unit has not or cannot accept the instruction. The oven will beep twice between
programmed stages. During Auto Weight Defrost, oven will beep twice two times during
total defrosting time. These beeps are a signal to turn, rotate or manipulate food. At the
end of preheat, the oven will beep 3 times. At the end of any complete program, the oven
will beep 5 times
