B2 - DURAHOIST WINCH AND DURAHOIST WINCH BRACKET
Installation of the DuraHoist Winch (Fig. F) onto the Winch Bracket:
1. Mount the DuraHoist Winch onto the bracket (Fig. 19).
2. Tighten the 4 fasteners provided to specific torque: 40±5 Nm (Fig. 20).
DEVICE CABLE INSTALLATION:
1. The device must be installed only on the leg with the pulley.
2. Install the device cable on the pulley and run the cable through the groove (Fig.
21).
7.3 – OPERATIONAL LIMITS
• On DuraHoist 3Pod head you may use only the swivel eye or 3 holes on the
head as an anchorage point (Fig. 22).
• Maximum number of anchorage points used at the same time is 2 when
connected only to DuraHoist 3Pod. In case of using accessory of Miller
MightEvac or DuraHoist Winch, you can use only one anchorage point on the
head.
• Maximum opening angle of DuraHoist 3Pod shall be used with correctly
installed Feet webbing only. There shall be no obstacle to the webbing.
• Feet webbing is not a PPE and can be used to connect 3Pod feet only.
• Make sure all Detent pins are fully pushed in and Head Adjusting Bolt is fully
locked in.
• DuraHoist 3Pod can be used for up to two persons, each connected to different
anchorage point.
• Only one connection is allowed per one anchorage point.
• When DuraHoist 3Pod is used as a part of fall arrest system, the user shall be
equipped with a fall arrester to limit the maximum dynamic forces exerted on
the user during the arrest of a fall to a maximum of 6kN.
• It is forbidden to handle any load when a person is accessing the confined
space. Only one person is allowed to access the confined space.
• The supporting ground under DuraHoist 3Pod must be horizontal.
• The head position of the tripod must in all cases be vertical.
• Differential leg adjustment is allowed (Fig. 23).
• Always check the stability of DuraHoist 3Pod after installation and do not use if
it is not stable.
• A Risk assessment must always be made before each use –specific to the
working situation.
• The risk assessment will mandate the approach to mitigate the risk of fall for the
user at ground level. One possible solution from the Risk assessment could be
to use the anchorage point of the DuraHoist 3Pod
• It is not allowed to use the 3pod as fall protection device and lifting device
simultaneously.
8 – PERIODIC INSPECTION
This equipment must be inspected at least once a year. A Competent person,
properly trained and qualified, must inspect this equipment in compliance with
these instructions and appropriate details of the inspection must be recorded.
At each periodic inspection, complete the form Appendix number VII and
attach a new inspection label with the next inspection date. The frequency of
examination shall be increased according to applicable regulations.
