Before use, make sure that the bolts on the blade and fixed blade are tight. After the first one hour
of use check that all nuts, bolts and fixing are still secure.
Keep the working area clean and free from foreign objects.
DO NOT operate the stump grinder in the presence of flammable liquids, gas or dust.
Keep Children, bystanders and pets away whilst operating the stump grinder. Keep the area free of
all distractions.
Only responsible, properly instructed individuals should operate this machine.
Inexperienced operators must always be supervised by an experienced operator.
DO NOT expose the stump grinder to rain or wet conditions.
Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common sense when operating the stump grinder. DO
NOT use a stump grinder while you are tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medications.
A moment of inattention while operating this machine may result in serious personal injury.
Use proper personal safety equipment. Always wear eye protection. Safety equipment such as dust
mask, nonslip safety boots, hard hat, gloves and hearing protection used for appropriate conditions
will reduce personal injuries.
Dress appropriately. DO NOT wear loose clothing or jewelry. Keep your hair, clothing and gloves away
from moving parts. Loose clothes, jewelry or long hair can get caught in moving parts.
Always wear earplugs or ear muffs to protect your ears.
Do not start the engine until the machine is in the cutting position next to the stump.
Do not overreach. Keep a secure footing and balance at all times. This enables better control of the
stump grinder in unexpected situations.
Check stumps to be removed for embedded nails, wire, metal fence posts and other metallic objects.
Also, check for rocks or other buried impediments which may be thrown dangerously or cause
unexpected machine movements when hit by the cutting wheel.
Make sure that all shields and guards are in place and are in good condition prior to operating the
machine. Check cutting wheel for damage or missing teeth and replace as necessary.
Ensure that everyone in the vicinity is aware of the danger zone associated with this machine (within
6m / 20'). You must avoid the danger zone at all times when the machine is in operation.
