Chapter 5: Advanced Serverboard Setup
Removing the Heatsink
Screw# 1
1. Using a Phillips screwdriver to remove the
heatsink screws from the serverboard (remove
diagonal screws fi rst, as show in the picture
on the right).
Screw# 2
2. Hold the heatsink and gently wriggle the
heatsink to loosen it from the processor. (Do
not use excessive force when wriggling the
heatsink!!)
3. Once the heatsink has been loosened, re-
move the heatsink from the processor.
4. Clean the surface of the processor and the
heatsink to get rid of the old thermal grease.
Reapply the proper amount of thermal grease
before you re-install the processor and the
heatsink.
