Overlays

What are Overlays?

An overlay is a combination of graphics, fonts, or text that is stored
and printed whenever required.
An overlay is stored in the printer's flash memory or on the hard
disk.
An overlay is similar to a watermark. However, an overlay can be
much more elaborate than a watermark.
Overlays can
• replace as pre-printed stationery
• add your logo or company address to a document
• create forms.
When to Use Overlays
Use overlays to print letterheads, forms, or invoices.
Using overlays can reduce the need for pre-printed stationery.
Example of Using Overlays
Use the Storage Device Manager to create and store three files in
the printer:
• the company logo
• the company address
• the company mission statement.
Use the Overlay feature to place these files into your document.
You can use the files in many different combinations, according to
your changing requirements.
