Greasing the Motion
Controls
Service Interval: Yearly
Grease the operator-presence-control balljoint and
the motion-control bushing for both levers.
Note:
Use an oil drip between the lever brackets to
grease the bushing, located in the pivot tube.

Engine Maintenance

Engine Safety

Shut off the engine before checking the oil or
adding oil to the crankcase.
Keep your hands, feet, face, clothing, and other
body parts away from the muffler and other hot
surfaces.

Servicing the Air Cleaner

Every 250 hours—Check the air cleaner (more
often in dirty or dusty conditions).
Every 400 hours—Replace the primary air filter.
Every 600 hours—Replace the inner air filter.
Removing the Filters
1.
Disengage the PTO, move the motion-control
levers to the N
engage the parking brake.
2.
Shut off the engine, remove the key, and wait
for all moving parts to stop before leaving the
operating position.
3.
Open the engine guard; refer to
Engine Guard (page
4.
Release the retaining clamps on the air cleaner
and pull the air-cleaner cover off the air-cleaner
body
(Figure
37).

Clean the inside of the air-cleaner cover with
compressed air.
6.
Gently slide the primary filter out of the
air-cleaner body
Note:
Avoid knocking the filter into the side of
the body.
