Man aging dust
The machine is fi tted with DEX (Dust Extinguis her), a low
fl ushing water kit that offers maximum dust suppress ion.
Use wet cutting blades with DEX when possible for
optimal dust management. See instruc tions in the s ect ion
"Cutting blades".
Adjust water fl ow using the tap to bind the cutting dust.
The volume of water required varies depending on the
t ype of job at hand.
I f water hoses loosen from their supply sourc es, this
indicates that the machine is connected to a water
pressure that is too high. See instruct ions under the
"Technical data" heading for recommended water
pressure.
Kickback
WARNING! Kickbacks are sudden and
!
can be very violent. The power cutter can
be thrown up and back towards the user
in a rotating motion causing serious or
even fatal injury. It is vital to understand
what causes kickback and how to avoid it
before using the machine.
Kickback is t he sudden upward motion that can occur if
t he blade is pinched or s talled in the kickback zone. Mos t
k ick back s are small and pose little danger. Howeve r a
k ick back can also be very violent and throw the power
c utter up and back towards the user in a rotat ing motion
c ausing serious or even fatal injury.
Reactive force
A reactive force is alway s present when cutting. Th e force
pulls the machine in the opposite direction to the blade
rotation. Most of the t ime this force is ins ignificant.
If the blade is pinched or stalled the reactive forc e will be
s tro ng and you might not be able to control the power
c utter.

OPERATING
Kickback zone
Never use t he kickback zone of the blade for cutting. If
the blade is pinched or stalled in the k ick back zone, the
re active f orce will push the power c utter up and back
towards the user in a rotating motion c ausing serious or
even fatal injur y.
Climbing kickback
If the k ickback z one is used for cutting the react ive force
drives the blade t o c limb up in the cut. Do not use the
k ick back zone. Us e the lower quadrant of the blade to
avoid c limbing kickback.
Pinching kickback
Pinching is when the c ut closes and pinches the blade. If
the blade is pinched or stalled the r eactive force will be
s tro ng and you might not be able to control the power
c utter.
If the blade is pinc hed or stalled in the kickback zone, the
re active f orce will push the power c utter up and back
towards the user in a rotating motion c ausing serious or
even fatal injur y. Be alert for potential movement of the
work piec e. If the work piece is not properly supported
and shifts as you cut, it might pinch the blade and cause
a kick back.
