    The system is driven by iron-core or ironless linear motors manufactured by HIWIN. Table 3.1 shows the family of a LMSSA Series Stage. Standard design of LMSSA also includes an integral top cover, seals, a high accuracy non-contact linear encoder. Limit switches and stopper, which protect the carriage from overtraveling.

The accuracy along an axis is defined as the remaining difference of target and actual position, after other linear deviations are excluded. Such systematic or linear deviations can be caused by cosine error, angle deviation, ball screw error, thermal expansion, etc.
