IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

  • To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, do not expose this apparatus to rain or moisture. The apparatus shall not be exposed to dripping or splashing and that objects filled with liquids, such as vases, shall not be placed on apparatus.

  • Do not cover.

  • Only use attachments/accessories specified by the manufacturer (such as the exclusive supply adapter, battery etc).

  • The plug is the main disconnect device and should be used as such. The disconnect device should remain readily accessible.

  • This active loudspeaker may emit high sound pressure levels.

  • Do not listen too close to the active loudspeaker.

  • Do not listen for an extended period of time at a high sound pressure level.

  • Do not attempt to remove the active loudspeaker chassis, there are no user serviceable parts.

  • Do not plug a guitar into the Stanmore Bluetooth.

  • Do not insert body parts or objects into the bass port for risk of injury.

  • Of dropping the product.

  • Of sharp corners.

MOISTURE AND HUMIDITY

  • The active loudspeaker should be located in a place free from moisture and water.
  • Do not use this apparatus near water. Do not expose it to rain or dripping water. Do not splash water on it.

INSTALLATION

  • Do not install near any heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other apparatus (including amplifiers) that produce heat.
  • No naked flame sources, such as lit candles, should be placed on the active loudspeaker.
  • Do not block any ventilation openings. Install in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.

CONNECTION

  • Connect the active loudspeaker according to the instructions in the manual.
  • Connect the active loudspeaker only to the correct mains voltage as shown on the equipment.
  • Protect the power cord from being walked on or pinched particularly at plugs, convenience receptacles, and the point where they exit the apparatus.
  • Use only power cables of the type specified in the operating instructions or as marked on the active loudspeaker. Do not substitute the separate power cable included with this active loudspeaker with any other power supply – use only the power cable provided by the manufacturer.
  • Do not defeat the safety purpose of the polarized or grounding-type plug. A polarized plug has two blades with one wider than the other. A grounding plug has two blades and a third grounding prong. The wide blade or the third prong are provided for your safety. If the provided plug does not fit into your outlet, consult an electrician for replacement of the obsolete outlet.
  • Unplug this apparatus during lightning storms or when unused for long periods of time.
  • Do not install in an area that impedes access to the power plug. Disconnecting the power plug is the only way to completely remove power to the product and the plug must be readily accessible at all times.

CLEANING

  • Clean only with dry cloth.

MAINTENANCE

  • Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel. Servicing is required when the apparatus has been damaged in any way, such as power-supply cord or plug is damaged, liquid has been spilled or objects have fallen into the apparatus, the apparatus has been exposed to rain or moisture, does not operate normally, or has been dropped.

  • These servicing instructions are for use by qualified service personnel only. To reduce the risk of electric shock, do not perform any servicing unless you are qualified to do so.


To prevent the risk of electric shock, do not remove cover (or back plate). There are no user serviceable parts inside. Refer servicing to qualified service personnel.

PLUGGING IN THE STANMORE BLUETOOTH

IMPORTANT: BEFORE PROCEEDING TO POINT 001 BELOW, CHECK THE INCLUDED POWER CORD AND PLUG AND YOUR STANMORE BLUETOOTH ACTIVE STEREO LOUDSPEAKER ARE COMPATIBLE WITH YOUR MAINS ELECTRICITY SUPPLY AND ASSOCIATED WALL SOCKET.

  1. INSERT THE POWER CORD INTO THE POWER JACK ON THE BACK OF THE SPEAKER.
  2. CONNECT THE POWER PLUG TO THE WALL SOCKET.
  3. SWITCH THE ON/OFF SWITCH TO 'ON' TO TURN ON THE SPEAKER.
  4. THE RED BLUETOOTH INDICATOR STARTS FLASHING AS THE SPEAKER SEARCHES FOR A BLUETOOTH DEVICE.
  5. TO TURN THE SPEAKER OFF, SWITCH THE ON/OFF SWITCH TO OFF.
  6. ALL INDICATORS WILL TURN OFF.

USING THE STANMORE BLUETOOTH WITH YOUR DEVICES

THERE ARE LOADS OF WAYS TO CONNECT TO YOUR SPEAKER, WHETHER VIA YOUR PHONE, TURNTABLES, TV OR WIRELESSLY VIA WIRELESS BLUETOOTH®, FEATURING APTX® TECHNOLOGY. BELOW YOU WILL FIND MORE DETAILS ABOUT THE CONNECTION SOURCES:

  • WIRELESS CONNECTION VIA BLUETOOTH
  • CONNECTION VIA CABLES, THE 3.5MM OR RCA
    USING THE STANMORE BLUETOOTH

    MAKE SURE THAT THE VOLUME IS SET TO LOW ON BOTH THE ACTIVE SPEAKER AND THE MUSIC PLAYER WHEN YOU START PLAYING MUSIC.

CONNECTING VIA BLUETOOTH (PAIRING)

FOLLOW THESE STEPS TO PAIR THE STANMORE BLUETOOTH WIRELESSLY TO YOUR BLUETOOTH DEVICE.

  1. ENSURE THAT THE STANMORE BLUETOOTH IS POWERED ON.
  2. PUSH THE PAIR BUTTON.
  3. THE RED BLUETOOTH INDICATOR STARTS TO FLASH RAPIDLY.
  4. ENABLE BLUETOOTH FUNCTIONALITY ON YOUR DEVICE. (SMARTPHONE, TABLET, COMPUTER).
  5. ON YOUR DEVICE, SELECT THE STANMORE BLUETOOTH FROM THE BLUETOOTH LIST AND ACCEPT PAIRING.
  6. THE BLUETOOTH INDICATOR ON THE SPEAKER TURNS TO A STEADY RED AND THE UNITS ARE NOW CONNECTED.

BLUETOOTH AUTO CONNECTION

IF A BLUETOOTH CONNECTED DEVICE IS MOVED OUTSIDE THE RANGE OF THE STANMORE BLUETOOTH (APPROXIMATELY 10 METRES WITHOUT OBSTACLES), IT IS DISCONNECTED. THE DEVICE IS AUTOMATICALLY CONNECTED AGAIN WHEN IT IS MOVED BACK WITHIN RANGE.

THE SPEAKER STORES UP TO SIX DEVICES AND TRIES TO CONNECT TO THE LAST CONNECTED BLUETOOTH DEVICE FIRST. FOR EXAMPLE, IF THE SPEAKER HAS BEEN CONNECTED TO THE DEVICES: A–B–C–D–E–F , DEVICE F IS GIVEN FIRST PRIORITY, WHILE DEVICE A IS GIVEN LAST PRIORITY. EVERY TIME THE SPEAKER STARTS UP, IT WILL DO AN AUTO CONNECTION OF DEVICES WITHIN ITS RANGE.
BLUETOOTH AUTO CONNECTION

CONNECTING SOUND SOURCE VIA CABLE

THERE ARE TWO WAYS TO CONNECT TO YOUR STANMORE BLUETOOTH THE OLD FASHIONED WAY, USING A CABLE. USE ONE OF THE TWO AUDIO INPUTS AVAILABLE: INPUT 1 - 3.5MM STEREO PLUG, INPUT 2 - RCA ANALOGUE INPUT.
CONNECTING SOUND SOURCE VIA CABLE

  • INPUT 1 - 3.5MM STEREO PLUG
    USE THE DOUBLE-ENDED COIL CORD WITH 3.5MM PLUGS TO CONNECT TO EXTERNAL AUDIO SOURCES.
  • INPUT 2 - RCA ANALOGUE INPUT
    USE THE RCA ANALOGUE INPUT TO CONNECT TO YOUR CD PLAYER, TURNTABLE (WITH RIAA) OR SONOS UNIT.

NOTE: RCA CABLE NOT INCLUDED WITH THE STANMORE BLUETOOTH AND MUST BE PURCHASED SEPARATELY.

INPUT 1 - 3.5MM STEREO PLUG

  1. ENSURE THAT THE STANMORE BLUETOOTH IS TURNED OFF.
  2. CONNECT THE CORD WITH THE 3.5MM STEREO PLUG TO THE INPUT LABELLED INPUT 1 ON THE SPEAKER.
  3. CONNECT THE CORD WITH THE 3.5MM STEREO PLUG TO THE MUSIC PLAYER AND TURN ON THE SPEAKER.
  4. SELECT INPUT 1 AS SOURCE BY PUSHING THE SOURCE BUTTON UNTIL THE INPUT 1 INDICATOR IS LIT.

NOTE: TURNTABLE MUST HAVE A BUILT IN RIAA PREAMPLIFIER, OTHERWISE A SEPARATE PREAMPLIFIER IS NEEDED.

  1. ENSURE THAT THE STANMORE BLUETOOTH IS TURNED OFF.
  2. CONNECT THE CORD WITH THE RCA PLUGS TO THE RCA INPUTS (LEFT AND RIGHT) ON THE BACK OF THE SPEAKER.
  3. CONNECT THE OTHER END OF THE CORD TO THE RCA OUTPUT ON YOUR SOUND SOURCE AND TURN ON THE SPEAKER.
  4. SELECT INPUT 2 AS SOURCE BY PUSHING THE SOURCE BUTTON UNTIL THE INPUT 2 INDICATOR IS LIT.

CHOOSING YOUR SOURCE

THE INPUT SOURCE THAT IS CURRENTLY SELECTED IS SHOWN BY A LIT INDICATOR. TO SELECT A DIFFERENT SOUND SOURCE:

  1. PUSH THE SOURCE BUTTON TO CHOOSE YOUR SOURCE AND/OR TO SWITCH BETWEEN CONNECTED SOURCES.
  2. A LIT INDICATOR SHOWS WHICH SOURCE YOU HAVE SELECTED.

TROUBLESHOOTING

PROBLEM CAUSE ACTION
THE STANMORE BLUETOOTH DOES NOT TURN ON. The speaker is not connected to AC mains. Ensure that the STANMORE BLUETOOTH is plugged into a working AC wall socket.
THERE IS NO SOUND

Wrong input for audio source is selected. Change the selected sound source.
Sound source not connected via Bluetooth or cable. Connect the sound source to the speaker.
Volume is set too low on either the sound source or the STANMORE BLUETOOTH. Slightly increase the volume on your sound source, then slightly increase the volume on the speaker.
THE SOUND IS TO LOW
The audio cable is not properly connected. Ensure that the audio cable is properly connected.
Volume is set too low on either the sound source or the STANMORE BLUETOOTH. Slightly increase the volume on your sound source, then slightly increase the volume on the speaker.
THERE IS A CRACKLING SOUND The amplifier is clipping if it runs out of power. Decrease the volume on your sound source. Lower the volume or bass boost on the STANMORE BLUETOOTH.
THE SOUND IS DISTORTED


Volume is set too high on the sound source. Turn down the playback volume on the sound source.
The sound file (mp3) is of poor quality. Try another sound file (mp3) or music player.
Volume is set too high on the STANMORE BLUETOOTH. Lower the volume on the STANMORE BLUETOOTH.
Too much bass/treble boost on the speaker. Lower the bass/treble on the STANMORE BLUETOOTH..
ERRATIC PERFORMANCE
Interference from another electronic device.
Move the STANMORE BLUETOOTH to another spot.
Turn off or move the interfering electronic device.
CANNOT CONNECT OR PAIR WITH A BLUETOOTH DEVICE

The two Bluetooth devices are too far apart. Move the devices closer so that they are within10 metres, and unobstructed by obstacles such as walls or doors.
Bluetooth is not enabled on your device. Ensure that Bluetooth is enabled on your device.
The pairing timed out. When the pairing button is pressed, the STANMORE BLUETOOTH searches for devices for 3 minutes.
CANNOT CONNECT OR PAIR WITH A BLUETOOTH DEVICE

Your device prompts you for a pin code.
In most cases, you do not need to enter the pin code when connecting the Bluetooth device to the STANMORE BLUETOOTH.
If the window for entering the pin code is displayed, use the STANMORE BLUETOOTH pin code 0000.
Your device only supports Bluetooth HF (hands-free) area function. The speaker cannot connect using Bluetooth HF area function. Try instead to connect using the included coil cord.
BLUETOOTH CONNECTION DROPS OUT
The two Bluetooth devices are too far apart or the connection is affected due to obstacles. Move the devices closer so that they are within10 metres, and unobstructed by obstacles such as walls or doors.
There is a strong electric field surrounding the STANMORE BLUETOOTH. Items such as microwave ovens, wireless network adapters, fluorescent lights and gas cookers use the same frequency range as the Bluetooth device. This may lead to electrical disturbances.

NOTES:
A BLUETOOTH DEVICE COULD CAUSE SOUND-RELATED OR TECHNICAL FAULTS, DEPENDING ON USE, IN THE FOLLOWING CASES:

  • WHEN SOME PART OF THE BODY IS IN CONTACT WITH THE RECEIVING/TRANSMITTING SYSTEM FOR THE BLUETOOTH DEVICE OR THE STANMORE BLUETOOTH.
  • ELECTRICAL VARIATIONS DUE TO OBSTACLES IN THE FORM OF WALLS, CORNERS, ETC.
  • EXPOSURE TO ELECTRICAL DISRUPTIONS FROM DEVICES WITHIN THE SAME FREQUENCY BAND, FOR EXAMPLE MEDICAL EQUIPMENT, MICROWAVE OVENS AND WIRELESS NETWORKS.

THIS WIRELESS DEVICE MAY CAUSE ELECTRICAL DISRUPTIONS DURING USE.
