Fitting Universal Child Restraints

When fitting a child restraint secured by the adult occupant seat belts ensure that the
seat belt is correctly positioned around the child restraint in line with the instructions
provided by the child restraint manufacturer. The child restraint should be held firmly on
the vehicles seat by the belt, ideally in contact with the seat backrest. It should not touch
the headrest.
If necessary, move the seat in front of a child restraint forward so that the legs of the child
in a "forwards facing" child restraint or the "rearwards facing" child restraint itself do not
touch the seat in front.
Remember to fasten the seat belts or the harness of the child restraint, keeping the slack
relative to the child's body to a minimum, even for short journeys.
IMPORTANT NOTE
Ensure that there is no seat belt or seat belt buckle under the child restraint causing it to
be unstable.
