Releasing Your Wheelchair as a Driver or
Upfront Passenger
As before, you will need assistance from a fellow
passenger or companion to release your wheelchair
safely.
FRONT & REAR WHEELCHAIR RESTRAINTS
A. Open your tailgate and ramp as detailed on page 14.
Unfasten your seat belt and press the corresponding
wheelchair restraint button for your wheelchair
position (upper button for driver, lower button for
passenger)
the restraints are released.
B. Detach the rear restraint hooks from your wheelchair
frame by holding down the red lever and removing
the hooks from the attachment points
remove the rear restraints from the vehicle floor by
lifting the toggle and sliding them from the anchors
fig.3 . Remove the wheelchair brake.
C. Wheel backwards to allow for enough space for your
companion to remove the front restraints and hold
them while they retract. Then slowly descend down
the ramp.
D. Finally, turn the restraint button back off. It's impor-
tant that you remember to do this or you may drain
the battery while the vehicle is not in use.
