WARNING
Accidental damage caused by defective or leaking batteries !
▶ Always store your products with the batteries removed!
▶ Store the product and the batteries in a cool and dry place. Comply with the temperature limits stated in
the technical data.
▶ Do not store batteries on the charger. Always remove the battery from the charger when the charging
operation has completed.
▶ Never leave batteries in direct sunlight, on sources of heat, or behind glass.
▶ Store the product and batteries where they cannot be accessed by children or unauthorized persons.
▶ Prior to each use and before and after prolonged storage, check the product and the batteries for
damage.

Troubleshooting

If a problem occurs, always observe the charge-status and fault indicator of the battery. See the section
headed Status indicators of the Li­ion battery.
If the trouble you are experiencing is not listed in this table or you are unable to rectify the problem by
yourself, please contact Hilti Service.
Trouble or fault
Product does not work.
Control switch cannot be
pressed or is stuck.
The battery runs down more
quickly than usual.
The battery does not engage
with an audible click.
Product or battery gets very
warm.
LEDs of the battery show
nothing.
BT modes not working.
Predrilling in BT mode stops
prematurely.
Hole not correctly drilled or
stud not correctly driven.

Possible cause
Battery not fully inserted.
Battery is discharged.
The forward/reverse switch is in
the middle position.
Very low ambient temperature.
The retaining lugs on the battery
are dirty.
Electrical fault.
Battery faulty.
The torque and operating mode
setting ring is not set to BT mode.
Contact force is too low.
Cutting bit blunt or clogged.
Operating instructions for the stud
not followed.
Action to be taken
▶ Push the battery in until it
engages with an audible click.
▶ Change the battery.
▶ Push the forward/reverse switch
to the left or right.
▶ Allow the battery to warm up
slowly to room temperature.
▶ Clean the retaining lug and push
the battery in until it engages.
Contact Hilti Service if the
problem persists.
▶ Switch the product off immedi-
ately, remove the battery, keep
it under observation, allow it
to cool down and contact Hilti
Service.
▶ Contact Hilti Service.
▶ Set the torque and operating
mode selector ring to BT.

Contact force in S-BT mode:
≥ 200 N (≥ 45 lb )

▶ Apply at least the specified
contact force to press the drill
bit against the workpiece.
▶ Change to the "Drilling" mode.
