Installation
(Fig. 38)
The Deck Tension Rod stabilizes the deck and applies
tension to the drive belt. The belt will not drive the

deck efficiently without this rod correctly installed. The
INSTALL TENSION BRACKET AND FIXINGS
information in this section expands on the instructions
mentioned in the basic removal section.
IMPORTANT! DO NOT ATTEMPT TO INSTALL THE
DECK TENSION ROD UNLESS RUE CLIPS AND PINS
ARE FIRST INSTALLED ON BOTH FRONT AND REAR
DECK BRACKETS (fig. 50, 53 & 53a).
Three Deck Tension Rods are available. These rods
are specific to certain decks. The rod is supplied with
the deck as standard on models made after June
2014. The rods are also also available as a kit.
