High Grass Mulcher Deck (fig. 42)
Your tractor may have been supplied with a High
Grass Mulcher (HGM) Deck. HGM Decks are the
best choice when cutting long or paddock grass.
These decks are ideal for mulch mowing where
grass collection is not required.
When using the high grass mulch deck please
ensure the following:
1. When cutting very tall grass set the deck at
the higher settings 7-9.
2. Drive forward at a speed that does not cause
the engine output to drop. If the RPM drops, there
are two options:
a) Reduce forward speed
b) Raise the cutting height.
Deck Rotation (fig. 43 & 44)
The HGM Deck is designed to distort grass cutting
direction of travel while maximizing mulching
capability. In order to function as intended all deck
blades must be installed to rotate in the correct
direction. From the seated position the deck drive
shaft rotates in a clockwise direction. All blades
follow the path laid out by the internal deck belt and
rotate as shown in fig. 43.
Deck blades must be installed to match rotation. fig.
44 shows blade rotation perspective from the base
from under the tractor.
WHEN PERFORMING BLADE MAINTENANCE OR
CHANGING CUTTER BLADES ALWAYS USE A
TORQUE RENCH TO REPLACE FIXINGS.
BLADES MUST ONLY BE CHANGED BY TRAINED
OPERATORS.
TORQUE VALUES FOR BLADE FIXINGS:
M10 FIXINGS = 50.9 Nm / 37.5 ft.lb
M8 FIXINGS = 25.3 Nm / 18.6 ft.lb
