    The encoder can be configured to stream over IP and simultaneously record to USB or micro SD card. This compact design only uses 4.5 watts of power when streaming from 2 cameras. The FV4K-1XA is available with either software preloaded or with an optional SDK starter kit.

The Interface Front End PCB of the FV4K-1XA assembly (see Figure 4) has a 30-pin KEL connector that allows a flexible ribbon cable to be used to connect the encoder assembly to an identical connector on the Sony camera.

    This section gives step-by-step instructions on setting the FV4K-1XA to output and stream video using each of the output format options: UDP, RTP, RTSP and RTMP . In addition to the FV4K-1XA, a Windows PC with the VLC media player downloaded is required.

    In general, streaming using RTP/RTSP will result in lower latency than streaming using TS. When streaming UDP or TSRTP, the FV4K-1XA supports a low latency mode called TS Lowlat Mode. When enabled, TS Lowlat Mode sends the transport stream packets as soon as possible, instead of pacing them out evenly.

Each output stream can be set using a separate channel tab. If the CH2 tab is not present, you can create a second channel by clicking on the tab.

    6.12 Record Snapshot FV4K-1XA supports taking a snapshot while streaming video (software V2.08 or later). By default, the snapshot will be at the native FV4K-1XA camera resolution with an option to change the size of image. There are two ways to record a snapshot: Using Camera Tab (see section 7.2)

    Figure 48 Color Controls 7.7 Sony VISCA Camera Control The FV4K-1XA leverages Sony camera technology. Remote control of the camera video input is supported by Sony’s VISCA™ protocol. VISCA commands can be sent from a remote PC using the same IP connection that carries the video.

    8.0 PERFORMING OTHER OPERATIONS WITH THE FV4K-1XA 8.1 Save Current Settings If you have a specific configuration you’d like to preserve, you can save it so that when the FV4K-1XA is powered off and back on, it automatically boots to those settings.

    8.3 Channel 2 PIP on Channel 1 The FV4K-1XA allows for the Picture in Picture (PIP) of channel 2 to be placed on the channel 1 stream. A common case is to have a PIP of the IR camera on the stream for the visible video.

    Figure 64 Channel 1 Tab with ROI 8.5 Overlay Timestamp The FV4K-1XA supports the overlay of a system timestamp on the video stream. This is done via the Text Overlay feature on the encoder tab. (1) Click on the CH1 tab and stop the stream with the Stop button, if necessary.

    Figure 65 CH1 Tab Overlay Timestamp 8.6 Set a Static IP Address The FV4K-1XA supports DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol). This is enabled by default, allowing the camera to dynamically receive an IP address at startup. The IP address that is assigned can be seen through using ZFinder.

    (10) Run the ZFinder PC Utility on your Windows PC. The ZFinder window appears. ZFinder does a scan of the network and lists the location of all Z3 systems connected to the network. The FV4K-1XA appears with your manually entered IP address.

    (5) To login as the new user click the logout button in the top right of the web interface. You will be prompted to login. Login with new credentials. 8.9 Factory Reset The FV4K-1XA can be reset to its original factory settings using the pinhole reset on the right of the I/O PCB of the unit.
