8.2

Assembly and installation

• Do not carry out any maintenance on the e-tron system trainer.
• The e-tron system trainer is delivered fully assembled and can be rolled on castors after
removing the packaging unit. Please ensure that surfaces are protected from scratches or
dents by using suitable pads. Also make sure that no objects or body parts (e.g., feet or
fingers) are rolled over.
8.3

Initial commissioning

Check the e-tron system trainer for damage before initial commissioning. There should be
no visual damage. The use of a suitable measuring device is essential. Read and fully
understand the operating instructions before the initial start-up. Only properly instructed
persons may work on the trainer.

Operation

9.1

Safety

Prior to each use visually inspect the e-tron trainer for damage. Measurements may only
be taken with suitable measuring instruments in the appropriate measuring range. In
addition, a reference measurement should be carried out on the measuring device before
each change of measuring range.
9.2

Operating elements

The e-tron system trainer has the following operating elements:
Ignition switch with vehicle keys, service disconnect, fault switch box with 24 fault
switches
9.3

Displays

The switch position is indicated by symbols o/I and can be determined from them.

Operating modes

Active operation with HV system switched on voltage measurement only! Attention fault
switch 24 is active operation
Passive operation Insulation measurement in the form of resistance measurement Fault 1-

9.5

Special tools, equipment, materials

To use the trainer, a suitable voltmeter with a measuring range of at least 200V DC must
be used
For the resistance measurement the measuring range must be set to at least 1MOhm
9.6

Commissioning

9.6.1

Restarting after a longer standstill of the system

After a longer standstill, the operational safety must be ensured by checking the insulation
of the cables, the tight fit of all cables and the complete condition of the trainer by a
suitable specialist.
