SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS
NOTE: Check all parts for shipping damage. In case of damage, DO NOT use. Contact
Carrier/Invacare for further instructions.
To ensure the safe and proper installation of the Transfer Bench, these instructions
MUST be followed:
DO NOT install this equipment without first reading and understanding this
instruction sheet. If you are unable to understand the warnings, cautions or
instructions, contact a healthcare professional, dealer or technical personnel,
before attempting to install this equipment - otherwise, injury or damage
may occur.
The transfer bench backrest and seat arm MUST be installed BEFORE using
the transfer bench.
DO NOT submerge seat pads in water otherwise damage to seat pads may
result.
Check rubber tips for rips, tears, cracks or wear. If any of these conditions
exist, replace rubber tips immediately.
Users with limited physical capabilities should be supervised or assisted when
using the transfer bench.
Use seat arm ONLY to assist in transfers. DO NOT attempt to use seat arm to assist
in standing in tub as tipping of the transfer bench could result.
The weight limitation of transfer bench (Model Nos. 9871, 9873, and 98070)
manufactured after November 1, 1999 is 300 lbs (136.1 kg).
The serial number (Date Code Decal), located on the underside of the seat, is
a 5 (five) digit identification and traceability label detailing the date of
manufacture, and arranged as follows:
XXXXX
1st digit signifies the last digit of the year.
XXXXX
2nd and 3rd digits signify the month.
XXXXX
4th and 5th digits signify the day.
Example:
91101 = November 1, 1999

Before using, ensure that the two (2) legs of the transfer bench inside the tub are adjusted to the same height and the two (2) legs outside the tub are adjusted to the same height, so as to achieve an even height adjustment.
  • Page 3 ATTACHING THE BACKREST ASSEMBLY NOTE: Before performing this procedure, carefully read and understand the Safety Summary of this instruction sheet. 1. Position transfer bench upside down on a level surface. NOTE: The backrest attaches to the end closest to the seat arm and MUST be positioned facing the shower head and/or faucet.
  • Page 4 If within such warranty period any such product shall be proven to be defective, such product shall be repaired or replaced, at Invacare’s option. This warranty does not include any labor or shipping charges incurred in replacement part installation or repair of any such product.
