Things you should know
- Preheating paste is available at most storesthat sell backpacking equipment.
- To reduce the possibility of rust and corrosion, flush tank and refill frequently with fresh fuel.
- Periodically squirt a few drops of oil into thepump cap; this will keep the pump functioning properly.
- The pressure in the tank will drop during use, especially when the stove is on high. Repump occasionally for full heat output.
- The generator gas tip can be cleaned by quickly turning the control knob from OFF to LOW several times. If the stove is hard to light or burns with reduced heat output on HIGH, clean the tip.
- The usual storage areas for camping and picnicequipment are the basement, attic, or garage. To avoid the accumulation of dust, cobwebs, etc., that is common in these areas, place your stove in a plastic bag and seal it with a rubber band.
- Unleaded fuels may vary in quality and canaffect generator life and performance. If you are having a problem with your stove or generator using unleaded fuel, replace the generator and try a different brand of unleaded fuel. Canadian unleaded gasolines, unlike U.S. produced fuels, contain manganese compounds that are unacceptable to both generator performance and reliability.
- For repair service call one of the numbers listedbelow for location of your nearest Coleman Service Center.
