    DESCRIPTION The REVEL PERFORMA C50 loudspeaker uses two 6.5-inch (165 mm) ceramic-composite woofers, a 4-inch (102 mm) ceramic-com- posite midrange, and a 1-inch (25 mm) aluminum-dome tweeter.     To unpack the REVEL PERFORMA C50 loudspeaker, perform the following steps: 1. Place the REVEL PERFORMA C50 loudspeaker onto its side. 2. Open the bottom flaps. Stand the carton in the up position. 3. Lift the carton off the loudspeaker and set it aside, being careful not to damage the contents (see Figure 3).
  • Page 7 Keep all packing materials for future shipping. In the unlikely event a product will need repair, Revel will only accept a unit in its original shipping carton. Using any other packing materials may result in damage to the product and is not covered by the warranty.

  • Page 8: Installing Stands (Optional)

    INSTALLING STANDS (OPTIONAL) 1. Using a Phillips screwdriver, remove the Revel Performa C50 loudspeaker feet and screws (for later attachment to the stand base). Locate the spike foot kit (containing the spikes, lock nuts, covers, screws, and a wrench) in the loudspeaker’s left pad and flat foot in the right pad.
  • Page 9 CARPETED FLOORS 5. Place your Revel Performa C50 loudspeaker as shown onto a carpeted surface or soft towel. Attach the assembled stand with four 8-32 x 3⁄ 4 " flat head screws, as shown in Figure 7. Turn the unit upright.

    1. Remove the spike feet, lock nuts, and wrench from the plastic bag. 2. Lay the REVEL PERFORMA C50 loudspeaker on its top on a carpeted area or soft towel. Use caution to avoid touching the transducers and grille. Remove the black screws that serve as glides on the three feet and store them for future use.

    RELOCATING THE CENTER FOOT As shipped, the REVEL PERFORMA C50 loudspeaker is preset for placement on top of a large-screen television set or deep bookshelf. If your television set or bookshelf is shallower, you’ll need to remove the (rear) center L-foot and install the supplied flat foot in one of two positions for a narrower footprint as follows: 1.

    Sound quality is heavily dependent on the accuracy of all your loudspeakers, their placement in the listening room, and the acoustics of the room itself. Since the REVEL PERFORMA C50 center-channel loudspeaker is extremely accurate, experiment with the following loudspeaker systems and placements (Figures 10 through 12) to enhance performance.

    A high loop resistance will result in mis-termination of the filter networks, and serious degradation of sound quality. Use high-quality connectors on the loudspeaker cables. Consult your Revel dealer as to specific recommendations for your application. • Turn off all audio system power before making any connections.

  • Page 16 Be sure to set your multi-channel con- troller to a mode that utilizes the center channel. If the REVEL PERFORMA C50 loudspeaker is used in a home theater system, listen to well-recorded dialog from more than one film, as the sound quality can vary greatly.

  • Page 17: Cabinet Care

    CABINET CARE The cabinet for the REVEL PERFORMA C50 loudspeaker has a wood veneer finish and does not require any routine maintenance. Occasionally, use a soft cloth, dampened with household furniture polish, to remove any fingerprints or dust.

    If your Revel component requires service, please contact your dealer. Your dealer will then decide whether the problem can be remedied locally, whether to contact Madrigal for further service information or parts, or to obtain a Return Authorization.

    This conservatively- rated specification indicates high sensitivity and denotes that the REVEL PERFORMA C50 loudspeaker does not require huge amplifiers to achieve realistic levels in all but the largest rooms. Impedance: 5.7 ohms (nominal), 3.2 ohms (minimum)
