EXHAUST GAS TREATMENT

Regeneration of the DPF
In normal working condition, the regeneration will
take place continuously. If the soot load increases
above a preset level, the engine ECU will activate the
"heat mode". This means that the combustion
parameters will be adapted to obtain a higher exhaust
temperature, required to ignite the soot in the DPF.
During the "heat mode", the engine will make more
noise but the compressor can still be loaded.
If the soot load keeps increasing, a "stationary
regeneration" will be required.
The display will show the specific icon
warning LED on the controller will flash.
If a request for stationary regeneration
is ignored, the soot load in the DPF will
keep rising up to a point where the
engine will switch to safety mode (limited
power). Intervention of the service
partner is required if this occurs.
The operator shall stop using the compressor as soon
as suitable and activate the stationary regeneration
(via the "Extra Views" menu, see figure on the right).

When stationary regeneration is switched on, the icon
will be shown on the controller display and the
warning LED will flash.
The engine ECU will take control by governing the

changing
parameters in order to clean the filter element.
During stationary regeneration, the compressor can't
be loaded.
When stationary regeneration is finished, the icon
will disappear.
The status of the stationary regeneration menu item
has to be switched back to the "OFF" position to be
able to load the compressor. This can also be done by
switching the controller off and on again.
If the stationary regeneration was not able to reduce
the soot load to a normal working level, a service
intervention will be needed.
