Problem
Grill will not light.
Flame will not stay lit.
Flame is low, irregular
or noisy.
Excessive flare-ups
DO NOT spray
water on the gas
flames – this could
damage the grill.

Troubleshooting

Cause
1. LP cylinder valve is closed.
2. LP cylinder gas level is low.
3. Igniter battery is not properly
installed or battery needs to be
replaced.
4. "Match lighting" may be
necessary.
5. Connections to the igniter or
electrodes are loose.
6. Electrodes may be wet.
7. Debris is blocking the electrodes.
8. No spark shows at igniter tip.

3. Burner is not properly installed or
dirty.

2. Burner ports may be clogged.
3. Gas supply may be bent or
kinked.

Solution
1. Turn ON LP cylinder valve.
2. Replace LP cylinder.
3. Properly install or replace igniter
battery.
4. "Match lighting" light grill per this
manual's instructions.
5. Reconnect or replace wiring to
igniter or electrodes.
6. Dry electrodes with dry cloth.
7. Clean electrodes with rubbing
alcohol and retry.
8. Replace igniter.
1. Turn ON LP cylinder valve.
2. Replace LP cylinder.
3. Reinstall burner properly and clean
out any debris.
1. Replace LP cylinder.
2. If only one burner is affected, check
and clean the burner ports.
3. Straighten out the gas supply hose.
4. If burner flame is mostly yellow or
orange, adjust the air shutter.
5. Wait until wind subsides to continue.
6. Clean burner air inlets of
obstructions.
7. Adjust air shutter.
1. Trim fat from meat being grilled.
2. Make sure grill is clean.
3. Keep flame on low or turn one
burner off.
4. Keep the lid up when grilling to
avoid excessive flare-ups.
5. Move food to the warming rack until
flames subside.
6. Clean grease tray and grease box.
