A.1 BIOS Error POST Codes
During Power-On Self-Test (POST) routines, performed each time the system is powered
on, errors may occur.
Non-fatal errors, in most cases, allow the system to continue the bootup process. The error
messages normally appear on the screen.
Fatal errors will not allow the system to continue the bootup procedure. If a fatal error occurs,
consult with your system manufacturer for possible repairs.
A.2 Additional BIOS POST Codes
The AMI BIOS supplies additional checkpoint codes, which are documented online at
www.supermicro.com/support/manuals/
When BIOS performs the Power On Self Test, it writes checkpoint codes to I/O port 0080h.
If the computer cannot complete the boot process, a diagnostic card can be attached to the
computer to read I/O port 0080h (Supermicro p/n AOC-LPC80-20).
