Power limiting

"Black Start" and "Peak Shaving" mode
In this mode, the parameter "ChargePowerSet" defines the power limit in kW for the charge
power.
In this mode, the parameter "DischargePowerSet" defines the power limit in kW for the
discharge power.
Manual mode
The parameter "ChargePowerSet" defines the charge setpoint in kW.
The parameter "DischargePowerSet" defines the discharge setpoint in kW.
Maximum system power
The maximum system power can be seen in the status information of parameters
"ActChargingPowerLimit" and "ActDischargingPowerLimit". This takes the following power
limits into account:
• Maximum battery current
• Maximum current of SINAMICS DCPs (unit with lowest current determines power limit)
• Battery SOC
The charge and discharge power limits should be below this limit.
The charge and discharge power values must be taken into account when dimensioning the
battery.
6.2.11

Watchdog

Write the "Watchdog" value that you receive via "outSendToMaster" back to the input
"inReceiveFromMaster" in the higher-level control. Do not change or apply any delay to the
"Watchdog" value. This value is incremented by SIMOCRANE ESSM.
You can also check the received "Watchdog" value for any changes in order to detect a
possible failure of SIMOCRANE ESSM.
A complete cycle must not exceed 200 ms. The power converters are shut down in the event
of a timeout. If this happens, check the following:
• Connection problems in your network
• The network load
Make sure that both controls are in the "Run" state.
