5.1 Inputs
This input structure is used for operating SIMOCRANE ESSM from the local operator station
(HMI).

This input is a 24-bit structure of the type "LTypes_ESS_HW_Inputs" and acts as a source of
information about the actual switching states of:
• The precharging circuit of the relevant SINAMICS DCPs
- and -
• The main battery breaker
Use of these inputs is an essential requirement when using the SIMOCRANE ESSM Step7
library.
If the precharging circuit or main circuit consists of several contactors, the signals must be
grouped together in advance in the engineered application. The following logic must be
taken into account: All the precharge contactors or bypass contactors in the circuit must be
closed before the input can take on the "logical 1" state.
