3. Remove the screws
board in the following sequence:
a. Partially remove screw
b. Partially remove screw
Note: Carefully remove the four screws
the system board. The four screws cannot be removed from the heat sink.

4. Lift the failing heat sink off the system board.
Notes:
• You might have to gently twist the heat sink to free it from the microprocessor.
• Do not touch the thermal grease while handling the heat sink.
5. Position the new heat sink on the system board so that the four screws
corresponding mounting studs on the system board.
6. Tighten the four screws
over-tighten the screws.
a. Partially tighten screw
b. Partially tighten screw
7. Install the screws
